Understand the Principles. Improve Your Performance.

Course Overview

Marksmanship Dynamics – Pistol (MD-P) is a six-hour course for shooters who already demonstrate safe firearm handling and can operate their pistol without instructor assistance.

MD-P is a high-volume live-fire course by design. The round count provides enough repetition for shooters to examine how their connection to the pistol, indexing, visual information, and trigger press influence firearm performance. Shooters compare what they feel and see with how the pistol behaves and the resulting shot patterns, allowing them to confirm or challenge their perceptions.

Rather than imitating a prescribed technique, students learn to diagnose their own shooting through an inductive process. This understanding enables them to observe and assess each application, interpret the resulting feedback, identify the causes of performance, and make informed corrections. As shooters continue to develop, they can apply this same process to refine their techniques, raise their performance standards, and build greater shooting capacity.

Training Objectives

Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

  • Build a consistent, stable, and durable grip on the pistol.

  • Press the trigger efficiently without disturbing the sights.

  • Understand and apply the appropriate visual focus for the shot required.

  • Understand how the fundamentals interact to influence firearm behavior.

  • Use visual confirmation to drive the appropriate shooting response.

  • Index efficiently through target transitions.

  • Interpret visual and physical feedback and apply appropriate corrections.

Prerequisites

MD-P is designed for shooters who already understand universal firearm safety and can operate their own handgun without instructor assistance.

Prior to training, students must:

  • Be at least 18 years old

  • Be a US Citizen or legal resident

  • Present a valid state or federal photo identification.

  • Complete and sign the required Hold Harmless Agreement.

  • Demonstrate safe firearm handling throughout the course.

  • Safely load, unload, fire, reload, and clear common handgun malfunctions without instructor assistance.

Students who cannot safely demonstrate these prerequisites will not be permitted to participate in the course.
